Main Accommodation
In a fully restored Berber cortijo sleeping 6/7, which includes a
garden area with fruit trees, swimming pool and sun terrace with magnificent
views across the Trevelez gorge. Mecina - Fondales dates back hundreds of
years and was once an Arabic settlement. After the Moors were expelled from
Granada they settled in this area of the Alpujarras.
The cortijo is a fully equipped rustic home and includes a fully equipped
kitchen and bathroom with Satellite TV, BBQ, pool furniture and book
library.
Alternative accommodation available for larger groups on request.
With a good days riding completed, returning to your own luxury farmhouse
accommodation, and taking a dip in your own pool is pure heaven and a
perfect way to end a ride. Followed by your evening meal and then maybe a
visit to a local bar, of which there are several within walking distance. A
wide range of meals catering to your liking is available. Vegetarians and
special diets we also cater for. Just let us know in advance.
Pitres is our closest village for amenities such as bank, restaurants etc.
It also has a camp site with bar and pool.
The popular tourist mountain villages of Pampaneira, Bubion, Capileira and
Trevelez, which is the highest village in Spain, are within easy reach. The
Mediterranean coast is easily accessible and is sometimes a popular
destination for a days break from cycling, or take a bus to visit Granada
for the day.
How to get to the
Alpujarras.
As most mountain
bikers prefer to travel
with their own bikes, on
most airlines, this does
not normally incur any
extra baggage penalty.
We offer a group
collection and delivery service from Malaga (flights from
around the
world including New York) airport. Malaga is just
over two and a half
hours by car. Car hire is available if required and regular bus
services are also available from the airport.
