What the folks say...
"Thanks again for a super, super time, well worth a flight of 72 hours! In
the future I need to see the riders ride the steps outside the "friendly"
bar at Canar, and the full on steps by the river crossing on the aquaduct
"danger of death" singletrack. Great, great fun, thanks again, see you down
under!!(where tyre choice is critical - ask Mark)" Sean Boiling,
Australia.
"3 1/2 years to make it back and well worth it. We thought that the last
place couldn't be beaten, but this one is fantastic. Wonderful views,
amazing riding (spectacular climbs and some unbelievable technical
downhills), lovely food and great company. I've had an amazing time and
won't leave it so long next time." Martin Short, New York USA.
"Fantastic week, excellent food, superb riding to be had. Singletrack back
from Trevelez on the GR 7 & singletrack to the "pizza place" were my
favourites. Just remember- hills are tilted straights and that they are all
in the mind.
If you thought that you could ride most things back home, try to follow Mr
Papworth - very sobering!"
Brian Eves, Essex.
"Back for a 2nd time - nice to see Robin & Linda as prison officers rather
than inmates (at least they understand the pain). Highlights - got to be
first clean "punter" descents of Kam II & zig-zags."
"Rock hard (literally) descents, "Roger-me". Thought it couldn't get
anymore testing than last time. Word of warning - you might think each days
ride carries the biggest risk factor - WRONG! Dinner time is even scarier.
Don't ever turn your back on Popeye, especially if you're modelling black!
Brilliant group, great guides, top class chefs. Had it all really. Over
and out, Roger me, off to get my blood transfusion now"
Mick & Alison Rushton, Preston, Lancs.
"El excellentos timeos, great food, rides, everything. Climbed 13,290 ft &
descended 17,210 ft (and they were easy on us!)." Ziggy Bruu, Blenheim,
New Zealand.
"Story tape" to follow. Many thanks for a brilliant week in the "correction
centre"." Dave & Angela Sykes, Tavistock, Devon.
"Another great week of mountain biking. NPS race points should come rolling
in after a week of chasing Mark up 1000m continuos "piste" climbs." Huw
Jones, Stafford.
"The food & accommodation was spot on. The mountain biking was full on.
It's nice to know I've left a little piece of myself in the hills around
Mecina - Fondales."
"A challenge beyond our expectations. The biking was brilliant and hard,
the climbs, the fast downhill & the technical stuff we would never believed
we could do. Accom, food & company were just as good. Thanks!" David &
Andy, Edinburgh.
"Tried the rides and survived (just). What a mad place, run by madder
people. A quality week had by all. Must get fitter/madder. C U next
time." Lev, Toby & Will, Cornwall.
"3rd time for me, 2nd for Jane, and a two weeker at that! Superb riding as
usual just wish there were trails as good as this back home - still if there
were it wouldn't give us the chance to enjoy such a great holiday. Thanks
to Mark, Jacky, Natalia, Bob the builder, Robin, Linda, Mark, Emma, Dave,
Chantelle and of course the dogs for keeping us fed, watered and
entertained. And of course the dogs for guiding the bikes! Fitter, faster,
fatter - does this make sense!" John Bedford & Jane, Aberdeen, Bonnie
Scotland.
"Well we've made it, 10 days of how to be 'real' mountain bikers. Mark 1
and Mark 2 (Bob) and Robin seem to be real bikers after all. Still they
have had lots of practice, but it still hurts when it looks so easy. Jacky,
great food! You can ride too! We have had a fantastic time and we'll be
back to show you - maybe!" Nigel & Peter Britten, Rachel Walton, Staffs.
"My character is now built. I have now to work on destroying it so I can
come back. "
"I will be back in the future and by then hopefully the profiles will show
this is an uphill experience (not one downhill all holiday). PS Loved the
good ride! Mark, excellent downhills somewhere in there."
Karen & Dean.
"6th time around. Better than ever. Didn't think it could get any better.
But it did. Thank you all for making it another unforgettable holiday."
Tony Spong.
"A brilliant time yet again, just when you thought that it couldn't get any
better - it did!! We love the new location and new rides, but we are happy
to see that nothing else has changed. Glad to be going home in one piece
this year!" Marcelle & Alan, Doncaster.
"Thanks Mark & Jacky. Had a brilliant time. After 6 days of challenging
stuff, I'm well satisfied. Might make it back over again one day."
Warrick Goldsmith, Sydney, Australia.
"I think my training paid off this year - and that's just the drinking!
Decided not to whinge & throw toys this year - feel better for it but I've
got a few bruises & scars to show for trying that little bit harder! Next
year I'll actually compromise the sun tan and actually wear some elbow
pads!!" Kate aka Lardette from Sandy, Beds.
"Well what can I say..... different venue, different rides but I think
better ones (if that's possible) Too much food and alcohol, going home
heavier!!" Dave, Cheltenham.
"2nd time around - better than the 1st! Thanks for helping the rehab on my
hip & knee & getting me on the right track for cyclocross season! Keep it
rolling!" Pete Lawson, Colorado, USA.
"Oh-mi-God, I unwittingly accidentally ended up on this holiday and didn't
know what I was letting myself in for! Never done so many hills or such
brilliant routes and am now totally hooked & ready to go and bike-perv in
Surrey! All you lot are sadists, but it was fantsatic & will be back!!
Thanks a lot to Mark, Jacky, Bob, Rob & Linda for the quality
guiding/welcome & for being so encouraging & motivating!" Susan Todd,
London.
"Most awesome holiday I've been on yet. Riding, guiding and company were
fantastic. Mark is inspirational , want to come back and do it all again.
Thanks all for making my week in Spain so Brill!"
Dean, Guildford.
"We knew what we were letting ourselves in for, but we came back for
more.... and it was bigger, better, faster and fantastic. Thanks to a great
team for another wonderful week. Keep them good vibrations rolling!"
Catherine & Andy Gale, Sandhurst, Glos.
"It rocks" Matthew, Halifax.
"What can I say? 3rd time out. Better each time! Superb!!" Matthew
Barker,Otley, West Yorks.
"Liked it so much, will be back next year - obviously with another new
bike!" Graeme Stanbury, Bristol
"Too hot, too technical, too tough - what a blast! I'll definitely be back
for more!!" Danny Pilling, Bolton.
"Absolutely superb!! The best rising ever. This place rocks!" Adrian
Raddenbury, Sandhurst.
"I will practice the techy single track for next time, maybe also have a
frontal lobotomy. Thanks a lot"
Tom Sharp, Scotland.
"What can I say? Absolutely fantastic terrain. Great weather & great fun.
Thanks to "the crew" for their knowledge & facilities. See you next Year!"
Simon Stewart, Highlands.
